Sproat Returns

The Cyclones announced today that forward Dustin Sproat will rejoin the team for 2009-2010.

Sproat, a Princeton grad played a few game for the Reading Royals in 2005-2006 and the decided to leave the game and get one of those real jobs only to realize that he wasn’t done with the game of hockey. He started last season with Fresno and after their unfortunate demise joined the Cyclones as a free agent and went on to average almost a point per game.

Dustin is the kind of player I like to watch play. He works hard and plays just as hard on defense as he does on offense. He’s a “heady” type player which should allow Coach Weber to get back to the PK systems which he had to abandon last season.

Although he is just a second year player, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him join Ehgoetz as a team leader on and off the ice (check out his organization, Hockey Players for Kids).
